One writer says that love reveals the beauty of another person to themselves. I agree whole heartedly with this statement. Love is not fixing someone else or manipulating them to do the things we think best. Do we have God all figured out? God is love, and we are far from understanding, researching, or exhausting true love with God or anyone else. The journey and discovery of love is a wonder. The path of love is filled with ups and downs because of flawed images, perceptions, and examples that we have seen. It is however worth pursuing and experiencing. I encourage everyone to seek the truth, and you will find love. There exists faith, hope, and love these three, but the greatest is love. There are boundaries for love, and one of the biggest is the ability to have and give free will. Love is not easily angered, it is kind, it does not envy, it is does not parade itself, it is not proud, it does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil, does not rejoice in wrong, but rejoices in truth, it bears all things, believes all things, and hopes all things, endures all things, love never fails. God never fails, and loves us when we are unlovable. When we are at our worst He still loves us. God is not the one that rejects love. For God so loved the world that He gave his only Son that whosoever believeth in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. Love is available. We sense that it exists, and in our heart we want it to last forever. |
