Sustainable developments for defenseless
children and micro-farmers
Each morning, some 24 million children leave their homes,
most of them under 14 years of age, to work all day, often in hazardous
conditions. Often, these defenseless children do not even know what they make, because
they lack literacy. Afflicted by poverty and illiteracy, the
child-laborers are defenseless, and vulnerable. Their childhood is
stolen away. Sanma is dedicated to alleviate the cause of this problem.

Agriculture development programs largely overlook the
micro-farm community of India. Their capacity to produce food for the
world is severely under-utilized. Across the rural villages, season
after season, millions of micro-farmers helplessly leave their farms
uncultivated or poorly farmed because they do not have access to quality
tools and knowledge to enhance agriculture.
This situation has repercussions that go beyond the
shortage of food available to the global food markets; the defenseless
child laborers, and the dangerously low levels of health and literacy in
rural India are some reflections of this situation. Thankfully however, the
solution is not beyond reach either!
