The purpose of the Good Samaritan Baptist Mission for forty years has been to preach the Gospel to spiritually starving people in Central America. God called Bob Tyson to leave his home in Villa Rica, Georgia and travel to a land he had never heard of. After arriving in Nicaragua, he knew that without God’s help he would surely fail. Little did he know, that 40 years later, this mission would grow into a massive force with hundreds of pastors and churches throughout Central America with Eleven Christian Radio Stations, Five Christian Schools, and thousands of hungry children being fed everyday. We also prepare and support National Pastors for the ministry in our Bible School in Honduras. There are 240 Churches established with men called by God to win their own people to the Lord. Bob Tyson in 2007 went on to be with the Lord. His sons Philip and Steve Tyson are now leading the work. We are not just a mission board, we are a Baptist Ministry with the purpose of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the Lost in Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and Mexico.

If you would like to visit our ministry in Honduras and Nicaragua, we have over 20 groups each year that visit our work. Many come down to visit their sponsored child and others come down to work for a week and some for the summer. The truth is, if you feel like the Lord is calling you to get involved with a Baptist ministry or if you would like to experience the mission field for a week, you can spend that week with us. We can handle groups up to 40 people at once. Thank you for visiting our website and if you have any questions at all, just click contact us on the menu and we will answer any of your questions.

Finding your purpose
2008-07-01

My name is Philip Tyson and some of you may know me and others may not. One of the hardest parts of living is finding your purpose for your life. Everyday, doors open and then before you know it, they close just as fast as they opened.

My father was a man of great faith because if a door opened up, he walked through it. He had faith that God would give him the strength to overcome any obstacle that was placed in front him. I have not had the perfect life and as I meet people from all around the world, I have found out that no one has ...
