The quirky movie A Christmas Story is based on nostalgic short stories by Jean Shepherd, many of which are included in his book In God We Trust: All Others Pay Cash. That's an interesting title for stories set in Depression-era America -- interesting because again today we are in a significant economic downturn, calling to mind the Great Depression. And the question arises, on the street and in scripture, "In what or whom do we put our trust?"
