h, I love dogs. I have two furry companions who are loyal, loving and faithful, and I strive to be like them! You know the old saying "Lord, make me the person my dog thinks I am." As we watch dogs, we can really learn from them. Enthusiasm: There is no pet more enthusiastic than my dog Scooby. Whether I just take the garbage out, or am gone all day at work, he jumps and wags his tail and barks his greetings. When he goes to the treat jar, or I should say runs, his long legs flail as he slides his entry into the kitchen. Do we greet our families with loving enthusiasm when they come home? Do we share our faith with others in an enthusiastic way? Lord, make me loving and enthusiastic like my dog. -Acts 11:22
he thing is to count the battle God's. The battle is not yours but God's. We shall not need to fight in this battle. As long as we count our dangers and responsibilities, we shall be distracted with fear. But when we realize God is bound to take care of us as His property and His representatives, we shall feel infinite relief and security. If I send my employee on a long journey, I am responsible for his expenses and protection; if God sends me anywhere, He is responsible. If we belong to God and put our life, our family, and our all in His hands, we may know He will take care of us. If our body belongs to God, it is His interest to keep us well, just as much as it is for the interest of the shepherd to have his sheep well fed, well cared for and a credit to him. Thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph - 2 Corinthians 2:14 . Stand up, stand up for Jesus, Stand in His strength alone; The arm of flesh will fail you, Ye dare not trust your own.
Scottish tradesman, a painter called Jack, was very interested in making extra money where he could. So he often would thin down his paint to make it go a wee bit further. As it happened, he got away with this for some time. Eventually the Presbyterian Church decided to do a big restoration job on one of their biggest churches.
wish I'd been there, outside Dawg Haus that late summer morning. I'd have seen the laughter in his eyes, heard the joy seasoning his every word. How I would have chuckled. His sister, had she been present, would have heard them too. Instead, Laurel would overhear the words a few days later, in a different setting. However, as summer wound to a close and school lurked a few weeks away, a group of young people hung together as only teenagers can. Around the tables bordering Dawg Haus, the local hotdog stand, life vibrated with shared remembrances, soared on the wings of cherished dreams.

Dr Booth of New York, who has lost all his children (I say lost, but they are not lost; they are all in heaven) was telling me about being in an eastern country some time ago, and he saw a shepherd going down to a stream, and he wanted to get his flock across. He went into the water and called them by name, but they came down to the bank and bleated, and were too much afraid to follow. At last he got out of the water, tightened his girdle about his loins, and took up two little lambs and put one inside his frock, and another inside his bosom. And then he started into the water, and the old ones looked up to the shepherd instead of down into the water. They wanted to see their little ones, and so he got them over the water and led them into the green pastures on the other side. How many times the Good Shepherd has come down here and taken a little lamb to the hilltops of glory, and then the father and mother begin to look up and follow! Am I not talking to some father or mother that has some loved one gone over the stream? The Good Shepherd has taken it that He may draw you to the world of light, where He has gone to prepare mansions for those that love Him.

"Are not two sparrows sold for a penny? Yet not one of them will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don't be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows." -Matthew 10:19-31 "How can I be discouraged when my heavenly Father watches over each little sparrow, and I know He loves and cares for me?"
hen people say size does not matter, it is usually because it does not matter to them. However, to those of us who are definitely not vertically challenged it is a rather serious thing. I must admit there are times when I forget how tall I am. Then something happens reminding me of this fact of life. A recent airplane flight once again brought this home to me. I always try to take the economy flights but I have come to realize that economy means different things to different people. For me, economy means saving money.
